The beginning
It began with reading the Bible together.
A few years ago, my husband and I read the entire Bible together for the first time. I had no idea how fascinating it would be, or how much that experience would change our lives.
We were so impacted by what we read that we committed to reading through the Bible every year.
As I continued studying, I became increasingly interested in the people, relationships, and events woven throughout Scripture. I wanted to understand how everything connected, from the kings and prophets to the generations and events that ultimately point to Jesus Christ.
But the more I explored, the more questions I had. And finding the answers wasn't always straightforward.
I didn't want less information. I wanted a better way to connect it.
The audience
What if someone doesn't know where to begin?
I thought about someone opening the Bible for the first time, or someone curious about Christianity who might find the names, overlapping histories, and unfamiliar places overwhelming.
I wanted to create something approachable without sacrificing meaningful detail. Not a replacement for Scripture or the work of the Holy Spirit, but a resource that could help people follow connections and return to the biblical text with greater understanding.
Research & discovery
Finding the relationships behind the details.
My study began with questions about the kings of Israel and Judah: how their reigns overlapped, how they led, and how their decisions connected to the prophets and subsequent generations.
Selected charts from my original Bible study research, developed to explore the kings of Israel and Judah, their reigns, and connections across Scripture. Additional comparisons and family relationships are available in the interactive viewer.
Exploration & iteration
Turning questions into an experience.
Bible People Map began with an early Base44 prototype. Exploring people profiles and navigation helped clarify how detailed information could become easier to browse and understand.
The current Moses profile shown here illustrates how the early exploration developed into a more complete experience. Additional early screens are available in the viewer.
Creative leadership
Making complex information clear without losing depth.
I originated the concept and guided its development, establishing editorial standards, directing the visual design and user experience, shaping content organization, and overseeing testing, refinement, and launch in collaboration with AI tools.
AI contributed substantially to coding, content drafting, and technical implementation. My contributions centered on defining the purpose, making creative and editorial decisions, reviewing information, identifying problems, and refining the experience.
Because the subject is Scripture, I wanted descriptions and references to distinguish what the biblical text explicitly states from interpretation or inference.
The outcome
A public resource built for exploration.
Bible People Map launched publicly in May 2026. Visitors can browse biblical people, explore timelines, and compare rulers and relationships. The resource continues to evolve through review and feedback.
Reflection
Curiosity, empathy, and creative problem-solving.
Bible People Map brings together my love for God's Word and my experience taking complex information apart, finding meaningful connections, and shaping something useful for others. I'm not a theologian. I'm a student of Scripture who wanted to help people explore its story more confidently.
I’ve always been drawn to questions, connections, and possibilities. Professionally, that instinct shapes how I approach creative challenges: recognizing a need, understanding the audience, organizing complexity, and turning an idea into an experience people can use.
